COIL-5 Meeting Sponsorship: IOLITEC

IOLITEC was founded in the end of 2002 and is today the oldest and most experienced company in the field of ionic liquids.

From the beginning on IOLITEC was able to successfully develop in the market. Today IOLITEC offers more than 325 ionic liquids, 180 nanomaterials and 50 key intermediates through its catalogs.

In recent years the relatively new technology of ionic liquids was awarded numerous prices such as the Leibniz-Preis for Prof. Dr. Peter Wasserscheid (2006) from Erlangen University or the „Profiles in Sustainability Award 2010" for IOLITEC. The more than 1200 statisfied customers that IOLITEC served worldwide indicate that ionic liquids are not a laboratory curiosity anymore.

The high technical competence of our highly qualified specialists allows us to rapidly identify the most suitable products that provide the highest performance in a given application in a scientific dialog with our customers. IOLITEC’s independency guarantees the highest degree of objectiveness in the selection of the ionic liquids.

COIL-5 Poster Award Publicity / Sponsorship

The Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data is a monthly journal devoted to the publication of experimental data and the evaluation and prediction of property values. It is the only American Chemical Society journal primarily concerned with articles containing experimental data on the physical, thermodynamic, and transport properties of well-defined materials including complex mixtures of known compositions and systems of environmental and biochemical interest.

The scope of the journal includes thermophysical properties obtained from quantum chemistry, molecular simulation, and molecular mechanics calculations. For submission, the Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data accepts Articles, Short Articles, Correlations, and Reviews covering, concise, substantial work with thoroughness, clarity, and completeness. The journal also publishes Comments and Book Reviews.

Editor-in-Chief, Joan F. Brennecke, Ph.D., is the Keating-Crawford Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department of University of Notre Dame and Director, Notre Dame Energy Center. Over the course of her 20 year academic career, Professor Brennecke has served on the Editorial Advisory Boards of many notable publications, including The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, Green Chemistry, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, and the Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data. Dr. Brennecke has also authored or co-authored over 100 research articles and holds 3 patents.

Meeting Sponsorship (non exhibiting): Proionic

Proionic makes its presence in the market field of Ionic Liquids (IL) by developing innovative technological processes, operating fluids and performance chemicals based on Ionic Liquids. Ionic Liquids are molten salts with a wide liquid range and melting points below 100 degrees centigrade, in many cases below room temperature. Ionic liquids have attracted a growing number of scientist and engineers in the commercial world.

Proionic focuses on the application and develops solutions for processes. Within the VTU Group the company has expertise ranging from process engineering up to plant delivery onboard. proionic can involve experts from process engineering in the development right from the start and that way take decisive courses in the development process at a very early stage. Therefore proionic can offer innovative complete solutions even for large processes that go beyond the laboratory and pilot plant scale.

Proionic developed a new, modular manufacturing process for ionic liquids. With the patented CBILS® synthesis method, almost any anion and cation can be combined freely together, and the desired substances can be produced quickly, cost-effectively and in industrial quantities. This results in important benefits to the development process, because many ionic liquids can be tested quickly.
